"Here a Chick, There a Chick"

Supply List & Class Notes.

Class Overview

This is a chance to do your own special wallhanging of chickens, chicks, roosters and anything that has to do with the hen house.

Participants will receive a pattern but are encouraged to do an original background (with guidance). Fun figures are added to make a sensational and original wall quilt. This class is for the young at heart! Class is easy going, fun and whimsical.

Creative Quilt Design
I will be bringing a variety of quilts for ideas and I will be giving you the pattern for "Chicken Soup." You may decide to follow the pattern but I am hoping you will stretch and do your own fun chickens. Using the pattern as a guide, this class will teach you to unlock the creativity that lies within so you can create your own flock of "Funky Chickens". Your quilt will be an original piece to show your friends and family.

Border & Background
Borders can be as simple of complicated as you wish, from simple checkerboards to "Funky Monkey Wrenches." I will demonstrate a simple method of great border blocks with little effort. This class works best as "scrappy"; I would suggest bringing a variety of fabrics in the same color family to get the great scrappy look. We will begin with doing our background and then designing our chickens to go in the spaces we create for our poultry.

Sources of Inspiration
If you have cards, books, calendars with chickens, please do bring them for inspiration. Remember our chickens will be whimsical, fun and playful. No serious chickens here!
